| Branson slams ITV’s bid rejection |

NTL’s largest shareholder Richard Branson reacted angrily to the rejection of its £4.7bn bid proposal for ITV, saying that the commercial broadcaster’s board were closing the door on NTL without even seeking to discuss the strategic merits of a combination. The cable group’s chances of a further tilt at ITV seemed slim after ITV’s board said it wouldn’t recommend any future bids involving NTL’s shares. |
