How do I install my new Sky Digital Decoder?
The first thing you want to do is turn your original digibox on and make a note of the RF settings, to do this follow the steps below:

Step 1
Press services on your Sky remote control.

Step 2
Select System Setup (Number 4).

Step 3
Press 0 (Zero), 1 then select on your Sky remote control.

Step 4
Select RF Outlets (Number 4).

You should then see a screen detailing the RF Channel Number and the status of the RF Outlet Power Supply. Make a note of the RF channel number and whether or not the RF outlet power supply is turned on or off?

To exit the services menu press the Sky button on your remote control.

Now that you know the settings of your original digibox you can remove and replace it with your new one by following the steps below:

Step 5
Turn the power off to your original digibox.

Step 6
Make a mental note (write it down if necessary) of where all the cables and Scart leads are connected to on the back of your digibox.

Step 7
Remove your original digibox and replace it with your new or refurbished digibox, re-connect all leads making sure that they are connected in the same way the original was leaving the power cable to last.

Step 8
Switch your new or refurbished digibox on at the mains and wait 60 seconds before attempting to turn it on from the standby position.

Step 9
Once turned on and assuming you can see the Sky welcome page press the services button and repeat the steps 1 - 4 above. If the settings are the same then simply press the Sky button on your remote control and go to step 10. If the details are incorrect enter the new settings by pressing the appropriate numbers, then move down and select Save New Settings.

If you have completed step 8 and you cant see the Sky welcome page on the usual channel you would watch it on from your TV (i.e. channel 6) then you can correct it by entering the following information blind, please ensure that you leave at least 5 seconds between pressing buttons on the remote control. First of all you need to turn your TV to the channel number that you would normally view Sky on (i.e. channel 6) then follow the steps 1 - 4 above (slowly), now key in your original RF Channel setting (i.e. 68), wait 5 seconds then press the green down arrow key on your remote control, you should now be able to see the RF Outlets page (if you cant then start again). Once you can see the screen check that the RF Outlet Power Supply is correct and then go down to Save New Settings and press select.

Step 10
Now you need to match your Sky viewing card to your new digibox, this is a very simple process that has to be performed by Sky themselves.

To get Sky to match your card to your new digibox please call 08702 404040 and they will take you through the process over the phone.
