Can I purchase a Sky digibox for use abroad? You can use a Sky digibox abroad providing you have an activated Sky digital subscription card. Your Sky subscription must be either a minimum of 12 months old or a card only package issued by Sky, i.e., not a digibox supplied or installed at a reduced cost.
If I purchase a Sky Digibox from you for use abroad do I need to connect it to a telephone line? As you will be purchasing a digibox as opposed to it being supplied by Sky at a reduced rate you will not need to connect it to a telephone line.
What would you like to say?At present I have a Sony Digital Satellite Receiver VTX-S760U, which has been fine for many years but now refuses to even switch on! I noticed on your web-site the Pace DS445N Sky digibox. If I purchased this, connected it up, placed the card in the viewing slot, (which I assume it has!), would the unit operate as my Sony used to do? Would I have to contact Sky as my account is up and running anyway? Finally, does this unit work without a telephone connection? We are moving house soon and may not, in future, use a BT line. What we said...In a word... Yes.
All you will need to do is put your viewing card in to the box and call the number that appears on the screen when you go to a channel you subscribe to, when you call the number Sky will ask you for the serial number and version number of the new box so they can match the card to the box.
Once done all the channels you subscribe to will be available as they were.
As far as the telephone line is concerned, no a telephone connection is not required unless you are using the box for Multiroom where you get the second subscription at a discounted price.
